Greetings, This holiday season Hearts in Arts will launch their annual movement to Save a Life 1 Heart @ a Time through Hearts in Arts. In its inaugural year, Hearts in Arts will focus on SCID (Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease). They would like to extend an invitation to everyone to participate in a monumental life-saving event. Are you a vendor, corporate sponsor, artistic talent or just an individual interested in attending this awesome event? Then make sure to aid in helping to save a life! This year’s beneficiary is Michael Keim, who is the brother to one of the young ladies that Mrs. Lynette McKinney coached during volleyball club season. His life is threatened by SCID, but after extensive evaluations by Duke University Medical Center (DUMC), they determined Michael has a case that can be cured with a bilateral lung and bone marrow transplant. He will be only the second person in the entire world to receive both of these transplants, making this a monumental benefit. DUMC has agreed to perform the procedure; this decreasing the cost of such a procedure drastically, leaving the family responsible for raising $35,000 for the procedure alone. There will be rehabilitation and medications needed for a duration of time after the procedure, which brings the Hearts in Arts for SCID goal to raising $100,000.
In order to reach these goals and make this event a success, we need your help! The Vision of Life Foundation, a 501c3 public charity has partnered with Hearts in Arts, making all donations tax deductible. Now, comes the time to reach out for your help.
For more info, please visit our website www.HeartsInArts.org for more details!
-- Looking forward to your involvement, Blessings & warm regards,
Lynette McKinney, Creative Director Zena Stepehens, Director of Operations Hearts in Arts for SCID Stacey Tucker, Executive Director The Vision of Life Foundation
